Southampton General Hospital

At Southampton General Hospital, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust offers a diverse range of specialist services for paediatrics and adult patients throughout the South of England, including The Channel Islands. Specialist services, range from neurosciences, oncology, pathology and cardiology.

The hospital is a dedicated trauma centre with emergency and critical care provided in the hospital’s special intensive care units, operating theatres, acute medicine unit and emergency department. There is a separate dedicated eye casualty.

Southampton General Hospital also hosts outpatient clinics, diagnostic services and treatment and surgery. The hospital is linked to the University of Southampton for research, education and training.

Bleeding disorder services

The Haemostasis and Thrombosis Centre at Southampton is an open access walk-in facility which offers comprehensive care to patients with bleeding disorders including support, treatment and advice. Care is provided for children and adults of all ages in all wards and departments throughout the hospital.

The centre has two consultation rooms, with a dedicated room for children.

The centre is supported by specialist laboratory services which offer a range of diagnostic tests.

Where to find us

The haemostasis centre is located on Level C of Southampton General Hospital. Please enter the hospital via the main entrance. Click here for link to level C map.

Adult patients should first report to pathology outpatient reception which is signposted from the main entrance. Nursing staff will then be notified of your arrival.

Parents and carers should follow the signs to children’s outpatients and check in at the reception desk adjacent to the centre. Nursing staff will then be notified of your arrival.

Parking

The haemophilia centre has one allocated parking space for patients requiring emergency treatment. A parking permit will be issued on your arrival.
